About the project

Sanitino.cz is an online store specializing in bathroom and kitchen equipment with more than 15 years of history and sales exceeding CZK 1.5 billion. It offers a wide range of products from renowned brands such as GROHE, Hansgrohe, and Ideal Standard, including its own brands. Thanks to its successful expansion, our e-shops also operate in Slovakia, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Poland, Hungary, and Romania.

Main challenges

Sanitino has long struggled with the need to manually manage the entire product recommendation module on its e-shop. This took up time that could have been used more effectively elsewhere in the management of the website, and it was also an inflexible solution in terms of reflecting customer preferences. At the same time, these problems multiplied with the opening of e-shops in other markets.

Solution

Sanitino decided to use Perselio in an AB test against its own long-term solution for recommendation areas on its Czech website. There were a total of five areas: Homepage, Product Details, Pre-basket, Basket, and Recently Viewed on Product Details. All areas were integrated purely on the front end by inserting the Perselio element into the Sanitino website, precisely aligned with the existing design of the e-shop. Perselio also allows you to enter business rules within individual recommendation areas, such as boosting your own brands.

The AB test was also controlled directly from Perselio, including traffic distribution and measurement.

Results?

After several months of testing, the following results were measured and confirmed as statistically significant:

  • Clicks on recommendation areas increased by hundreds of percent, e.g., by 230% on the homepage.

  • The length of user sessions (visits) when using the Perselio group on the website increased by an average of 6 seconds.

  • The average order value in the Perselio group increased by 4%.

  • Total sales increased by as much as 6%.

Given the size of the Sanitino e-shop, this represented a significant increase in sales in absolute terms.

Thanks to the clearly demonstrated benefits, Sanitino subsequently decided to deploy Perselio on 100% of traffic not only on its Czech website, but also on all foreign markets.

Thanks to Perselio, we have highly personalized product recommendations on all websites and hassle-free maintenance. We no longer have to deal with the complicated administration of the original recommendation module, our sales and user engagement have increased, and at the same time, we can still promote certain product groups if necessary.

With Perselio, life is much easier in this regard.
